Worst coffee I ever had

I defy anyone to match this. It was early one morning at Lake Rotoiti, camping at a hang gliding competition. I got out of my tent and was just about to go into town to get a latte and cooked breakfast when one of the paragliding guys asked if I wanted a coffee. I imagined one of those stovetop espresso machines and thought why not? Big mistake.

I have nothing against instant coffee any more than the next guy, but this was something else. He put a measly, dirty teaspoon of the stuff in that cup, put some luke warm water on top, then tried to stir in some milk powder which instantly coagulated in stinky lumps on the inside of the cup, as you can see.

I was representing my hang gliding brothers here, severely outnumbered by paragliders I had just met, and knew I had to make an appropriate reaction in accordance with flying etiquette. So I spat the coffee out all over his van and collapsed on the ground clutching my throat, dry retching.... This experience features in one of my hang Gliding Articles : "Don't mix the Bloods". I hope to post it on this blog one day.
